Sheikh Mansour was appointed chairman of the presidential office in 1997, while his father, Sheikh Zayed, was the UAE’s president. Following the death of his father, his eldest half-brother, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, named him as the United Arab Emirates’ first minister of presidential affairs, resulting from the merger of the presidential office and presidential court.
