Amal Clooney was born on 3 February 1978 in Beirut, Lebanon. her first name is rom أمل, ʾamal in Arabic and its meaning is hope. When Amal was two years old, Amal’s family left Lebanon and moved to Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.

He completed his MBA degree at the American University of Beirut.

She is the co-founder of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which aims to advance justice through accountability for human rights abuses around the world. Amal speaks English, French and conversational Arabic.
