Damar Hamlin age-American football safety, Damar Romeyelle Hamlin was born on March 24th, 1998 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania in the United States of America.

Hamlin was born to African-American parents. His parents names are Mario Hamlin and Nina Hamlin and he shares the same parents with his younger brother, Damir Hamlin.

He attended Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Central Catholic High School. First team All-State honors and Class AAAA Defensive Player of the Year were given to him.

Hamlin was regarded as one of the best cornerbacks after graduating from Central Catholic High School. Major college football programs including Pittsburgh, Penn State, Ohio State, and Temple all wanted to sign the four-star recruit.

After signing with the Pittsburgh Panthers, he participated in three games as a rookie before being hurt and being granted a medical redshirt exception for that season.

Hamlin wasn’t fully recovered until week three of the football season as a redshirt freshman playing in his second year. In nine games, he made 41 tackles while playing safety and had one interception.

As a redshirt sophomore the following year, Hamlin led the Panthers’ “sniper gang” secondary with 77 tackles and two interceptions, earning honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition (ACC). As a junior redshirt, he recorded 84 tackles and 10 passes disallowed.

Hamlin was a team captain heading into his last season and made the All-ACC second team after leading the Panthers with 66 tackles and seven passes intercepted.

He was named the ACC Co-Defensive Back of the Week for his performance against Virginia Tech on November 21, 2020. University of Pittsburgh awarded Hamlin a communication bachelor’s degree.

When Micah Hyde suffered a season-ending injury in 2022, Hamlin was a backup for the majority of his first season before taking over as the starter.

On January 2, 2023, Hamlin experienced heart arrest while playing Monday Night Football. Before being transferred to a nearby hospital in serious condition, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED) were swiftly performed on him.

Hamlin was moved to a hospital in Buffalo after displaying significant progress, and nine days after the event he was released to continue his rehabilitation at home.
