American business mogul, Malcolm Irving Glazer happens to be the owner of one of the most popular and profitable football teams in the world, Manchester United.

Malcolm Glazer was born on August 15th, 1928 in Rochester, New York in the United States of America. He died on May 28th, 2014 at Palm Beach Florida in the United States of America.

He was the president and CEO of First Allied Corporation, a holding company for his various business ventures, and he was also the owner of the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

At the Sampson Air Force Base, Glazer acquired the concession for watch repair. He began investing in Rochester single-family houses, duplexes, and commercial structures after the base closed in 1956. Eventually, he owned commercial real estate all over the country.

At age 8, he started working in his father’s watch parts company. When his father passed away when he was 15, he sold watches door to door to support his family.

Glazer was quoted by Reuters as saying that while his father’s passing “was perhaps the most painful event that ever happened in my life,” it “made me a man” and so was “good in one way.”

He briefly studied at Sampson College in Romulus, New York, before dedicating his entire life to the restoration of jewelry and timepieces. He was known as “the leprechaun” in the news, a diminutive man with a reddish beard.

He established First Allied Corporation in 1984 as a holding company for all of his business ventures, serving as president and CEO.

When he made an unsuccessful $7.6 billion proposal to purchase the federally owned freight rail corporation, Conrail, in 1984, Glazer initially attracted the attention of the country’s corporate community.

In 1988, he became the company’s largest stakeholder, and in the years that followed, he held the same position with Harley-Davidson, a maker of motorcycles. George H. W.
