Meet Joe Kelly Sr. And Andrea Valencia

Joe Kelly parents-American professional baseball pitcher, Joseph William Kelly Jr. was born on June 9th, 1988 in Anaheim, California in the United States.

In Corona, California, Kelly went to Corona High School. He went to the University of California, Riverside (UCR) after high school and played baseball for the Highlanders team there.

He played outfield in high school before switching to pitching in college and acting as closer. As a freshman in 2007, he was named the Big West Conference Pitcher of the Year.

He played college baseball with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League after his sophomore year in 2008.

With a 1-1 win-loss record in 2009, Kelly’s earned run average (ERA) was 5.65. With 24 career saves, Kelly established a Highlanders record and was awarded an All-American. At UCR, he finished with a 4.65 ERA with an 8-11 record in 42 games played.

Kelly is a Major League Baseball pitcher with the Chicago White Sox in the United States (MLB). With the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Red Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers, he formerly played in Major League Baseball.

He represented the UC Riverside Highlanders in collegiate baseball. He has pitched both in relief and as a starter.

Kelly was selected by the Cardinals in the third round of the 2009 MLB Draft. Kelly bats and throws right-handed and is listed as 190 pounds (86 kg) and 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m).

In addition to dancing in the outfield during batting practice, assuming a different identity while speaking with the unaware rapper Nelly, staring down Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke for an extended period of time before a 2013 National League Championship Series game, and donning a charro jacket to the White House, Kelly has gained notoriety for his humorous repertoire. In 2020, Kelly’s internet parody of Carlos Correa’s whining about being almost struck by a fastball went viral.

Kelly can hurl a fastball up to 102.2 mph (164.5 km/h), and he also has a sinking fastball and a slider to go with it.

He has one of the quickest sinkers in the game, moving at roughly 98 mph (158 km/h), yet oddly, his sinker does not exhibit the same dramatic vertical movement (sink or drop) as other sinkerballers like Justin Masterson, a former teammate.

He also uses a curveball and a changeup against left-handed hitters. His fastball in particular is praised for having good control.
