Michel Dimitri Chalhoub popular known as Omar Sherif was an Egyptian film and television actor. He was born on April 10, 1932, in Alexandria, the Kingdom of Egypt to Joseph Chalhoub and Claire Saada.

Omar Sharif reportedly studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, but the Academy reported that this is false. He began his acting career in 1954 and rose to fame when he featured in the movie, Our Beautiful Days in 1995.

Omar Sharif is best known for his appearances in both British and American productions. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and won three Golden Globe Awards and a Cesar Award.
