He developed a passion for playing ice hockey at a younger age, has been consistent throughout his career, and has risen through the ranks to become one of the most sought-after ice hockey players.

At the time of this writing (Thursday, June 29, 2023), Smith is a professional ice hockey right winger for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

He played junior hockey with St. Michael’s College School before playing three seasons of NCAA Division I collegiate hockey with the Miami University’s RedHawks in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA).
