At 16 years of age, she became a mother of a daughter. Mindy had to marry Henry Dodd after being pregnant for the second time.

It was only after Henry’s death,  dark and disturbing secrets hidden within the family were exposed.

However, Mindy claims that it was all those years of suffering that led her to take such wrongful steps.

Mindy Dodd is serving a life sentence in Tennessee.

She was prosecuted for conspiracy and first-degree murder alongside James Smallwood.

However, people are demanding her release as she is not worthy of life imprisonment.

On January 30, 2020, the Tennessee Board of Parole voted that her sentence be commuted.

Mindy Dodd may have suffered from Battered Women’s Syndrome. She could be paroled in the future.

Dodd was 46 years of age in 2014. This makes her 53 years old in 2021.  She will be 86 when she is eligible for parole.

For Mindy’s release, a petition was made by people from Tennessee Board.

Dodd will remain behind bars for the remainder of her life unless she is paroled in the future.

Mindy Dodd had to forcefully marry Henry Dodd. Her husband was shot to death, 20 years ago.

In December 1999, Sherman Dodd’s nephew killed him near their home in Smyrna.

The murder was preplanned by both James and Mindy.

Smallwood was 37-years old in 2014 and will be 78 when he is eligible for parole.

Mindy Dodd’s mother Betty was 32 when she met Henry Dodd in a restaurant in Nashville. They set up home in 1974.

Henry was a decorator by profession while Betty worked nights.
